Palladium Farming

Palladium, the official currency of Hellgate: London, is also referred to as Pd, Pal, and P. As in most online games, having game currency allow players to purchase weapons, armor, and other game items to make their characters stronger and more resilient thus being able to take down mobs, bosses, or other players more easily. But in Hellgate: London, you can do a lot more with Palladium than just buy weapons and armor. There are a lot of additional ways to make your HGL character more powerful. In the havens or safe zones scattered across the HGL world, you will find different NPC merchants and crafters where you can buy or craft mods that allow you to upgrade your items.

These upgrades or Mods are as important as the weapons they are used on, since they can add various effects to weapons and also a lot of good stat points to both your character and your weapons. Installing the right combination of mods on your weapons can be very effective in making your character stronger. There are six types of Mods: batteries, fuel, ammo, rockets, techs, and relics and each type can have a variety of effects. Certain classes use certain types of mods more than others, and the effects of different mods are only useful for certain classes and for certain weapons.

One effect that a mod can have is to give your character additional attribute points like added strength or accuracy. Aside from the obvious benefit to your character, this can also boost your attribute points enough to allow you to wield weapons which you might otherwise be unable to use, since weapons have equip requirements for certain character attributes. Because of this and other potential benefits of mods, choosing weapons with more mod slots is a smart idea.

You will also need to use Palladium when you want to change mods on your weapons. You can do so using the De-Modificator station. But remember that you must remove all mods from a weapon at once instead of changing them individually.
